How does a PT1000 probe work?
The PT1000 probe is a temperature sensor using the thermal resistance principle. It is made of platinum, which has a resistance at 0 degrees Celsius of 1000 ohms. As the temperature changes, the resistance of the conductor wire also changes, allowing the temperature of the environment to be determined.
This resistance variation is proportional to the temperature. The PT1000 probe is used to measure high temperatures and high measurement accuracies. It can be connected to measuring devices or electronic equipment for more complex processing.
Why choose a PT1000 among other types of PT probes?
There are various reasons why a PT1000 might be chosen over other types of PT probes:
Accuracy
PT1000 probes have stable long-term resistance and low tolerance, making them a suitable choice for applications that require high accuracy. By using a higher resistance than PT100, the change in resistance for a change in temperature is greater, so the sensitivity of the measurement is higher.
Temperature range
The measurement temperature range for a PT1000 is -200 to 850 degrees Celsius, making it a suitable choice for many industrial and scientific applications.
Electronic compatibility
It is generally compatible with standard electronic equipment and easy to integrate with existing temperature measurement systems.
High temperature applications
For applications that involve high temperatures, the PT1000 is preferred because it is more stable at high temperatures.
Resistance to corrosion
The PT1000 probes are made of platinum, which is a corrosion resistant material, allowing them to be used in aggressive environments.
